I put off reading any of Dee Henderson's books because I was afraid of how suspenseful (read: scary) they would be. Now that I've read Danger in the Shadows I am looking forward to reading all of her books! I enjoyed it so much and it wasn't nearly as terrifying as I'd thought it might be while still being intense and gripping enough that I didn't want to put it down. Suffice it to say, I read it in one day and loved it! (Great love story....)

This seems like it's gonna be a great series. Enjoyed this book, it was a quick read. Looking forward to the next book. I loved that there was no bad language to worry about in this book.
Update: I read as far as the 3rd book in this series. They are just overly religious for me (and I am a religious person!) First book was awesome, but it just seemed to go downhill from there.

wonderful story about love with intrigue, suspense and faith
I've read a LOT of books in my lifetime, mostly Christian Fiction. This romantic thriller, probably my favorite genre, is by far the best one of it's kind in the Christian Fiction department. Henderson is a superb writer, weaving a wonderful love story with an edge-of-your-seat suspense together. She is totally on point with the spiritual struggle a christian goes through when bad things happen to good people. Henderson does not disappoint in the dialogue section, one of my personal pet peeves. Totally recommend!!!
The prequel to the O'Mally series. Riviting and suspensful. Impossible to put down.
Terrific book and overall fabulous series by Dee Henderson. I would highly recommend this book / series.
I don't read romance novels normally but this one was different. Firstly, it was a Christian romance and secondly it was more of a thriller than romance. Very good book.
The prequel to The O'Malley Chronicles is suspenseful and hard to put down. It kept me interested from the first page to the last. Dave's sister Sarah has been hiding from her childhood kidnapper for most of her life. When she meets Adam Black, a famous football player, and starts falling for him, it puts her security at risk.

This was a wonderful book. Dee Henderson combines suspense and Godliness in her theme. I couldn't put it down and read the whole thing at one sitting. Loved it. Looking forward to reading more of her books. Especially the Kate O'Malley series.
This was an excellent mystery/thriller/romance. I'm usually not drawn to this type of book but I will be reading the O'Malley series that follows this prequel...in fact, the first one is ordered through Bookswap and on it's way!
I just finished reading four Ted Bell novels and thought, 'wow, it is going to be tough to top these.' I love suspense and strong character lines. I began with this book as well as the second book in this series, The Negotiator. I read both of them within a week. They were wonderful reads. I was never bored! This book has a great deal of excitement and an entire spectrum of emotions. You fall in love with the characters right away and Dee Henderson is great at taking you through the decision/thought processes with her characters. You want to cry with them, cheer them on, and can't wait to get back to reading so you can be part of their world. Her writing is gentle and yet suspensful. There is no room for 'fluff,' just great story-line. This particular book is heart-wrenching and wonderful. I found myself crying with Sara and hoping with her for her future. I watched for clues to the mystery surrounding her life... I ached with her for a sense of normalcy in her life. Through each twist and danger... Fear and hope... betrayal and romance... I found I couldn't put this book down. The characters have a strong faith, that is tested, in a God who loves them through it all. This would be an excellent book for a teenager as well as adults since there is no graphic content. The subject matter is heavy, though. Some of the downfalls: We never got to see inside the head of the kidnapper. There was nothing about him at all until the last paragraph. Also, it ended way too quickly as far as the kidnapper and Sara meeting. Another thing that doesn't bother me, but I know some people don't appreciate it, but it was a little unrealistic in how rich they were and how much of the FBI was surrounding her at all times. I liked it. I find it fun to live a fantasy life like that as I read. It is, after all, 'fiction.' Read the synopsis above to see the details of the story. I highly recommend Dee Henderson. Now I need to go start book #3 - The Guardian!
This is Sara's story. Can her brother, the FBI agent, protect her from the man that wants to kill her?
Another great book by Dee Henderson.

One of my favorite authors. I have most of her books signed personally by her. This prequel to the "O'malleys" keeps you on the edge of your seat. I became so involved in the characters that they became like family.
If you've read Henderson's the O'Malley series, this is a prequel to that series where you meet Dave Richman.
Good book!
Wonderful book...start of a series
I have not read this. I picked it up at a garage sale for the sole purpose of posting it here.
