Dancing with Werewolves - Delilah Street, Bk 1
Author: Carole Nelson Douglas
It was the revelation of the millennium: witches, werewolves, vampires and other supernaturals are real. But a...  more »

It sounded interesting ~ but the book was a jumbled mess of characters & ideas. Too much info & various characters which seem to pop out of nowhere made this a difficult book to read. Honestly, I had to make myself finish it rather than just skip to the end.

horrid book. I made it to page 132 and gave up! The writing style was horrendous. The character was wussy and didn't care when bad things happened to her. She had no reaction. Just oh this bad thing happened so I think I'll leave town. I still don't know the motive of why one bad thing happened to her. I found myself rereading paragraphs and still not understanding what was happening.

Horrible, horrible book. I made myself finish it. Why? I'm not sure! I think I was just hoping it would get better! Even the grammar sucked! I mean how many exclamation marks can a women use in a book!? I'm not sure I've even seen so many! It was very annoying! Have I made my point?!

I had a hard time finishing this one. The premise of the book was good, but there's something missing in the execution. It almost feels as though the author was so busy trying to create a "new" spin on the supernatural world that she forgot that character developement and a strong story line were necessary for a good book.

Horrible book. Great premise, poor execution. Even the grammar sucked and this is an experienced author. I have no idea what went wrong. I can never get back the hours wasted on this book. Enjoy life and read something else you won't be sorry.

Orphan Delilah is a funky, witty narrator with a real flare for finding trouble - and getting herself out of it. The side characters such as ghoulish Hector Nightwine and mysterious corpse diviner Ric, are well-realized and just as interesting as Del herself. The plot sucks you in and the writing style - although sometimes rambling - is always engaging. The new twist on creatures like zombies and werewolves, and Del's own developing supernatural gifts, are fascinating.

Talk about a 'different' read. The writing style is...unique. It seemed like the author was writing about some otherworldly thing that we as readers know nothing about, and she forgot to tells us what it was, continuously throughout the book. Things would be randomly described, like web like tendrils coming off of a girl. WHAT? What does that even mean? Especially without any indication that there was something 'otherly' about her before. Jumps around a lot. Basically the main question, giving the book it's purpose, was left unanswered. Probably won't be continuing with the series.
