It was her mother's decision to get married again that really made her begin to plan and do things. For with the marriage, a school for the deaf loomed large. There seemed nothing to do but run away, go back to Maine where maybe she could cope with things herself. Margaret's running away was marvelously successful, though she got nowhere near Maine.
