Romantic story of a woman's search for the son she gave up for adoption. What she finds is also a story of an America past.

I found this book haunting and ringing absolutely true. A tangled story of life on the Plains both at the time of the "Indian Wars" and now. The story is tangled in the same way that our history is tangled. The followup to Dalva, "The Road Home" completes the story. I fond it interesting, but not as satisfying.
