Three women's lives cross when an 18 year old girl is found stabbed to death with no blood in her bed or room where she is found. The step mother who asked the neighbor to watch over her children while she is on vacation, the neighboor who reluctantly says she will check in on the teens and the lady deputy who is called in on the case are all major characters in this murder mystery. The story is intense with the inner feelings of all three women which holds the readers interest until the conclusion.

This was my first time reading this author and the book grabbed and held on until the finish. Vey good.

Not the traditional mystery/cozy that I expect to get from the worldwide mystery library but still worth reading. A different feel to it - dark and less detail about the murder investigation than I would have expected. It did, however keep me interested and I would be willing to try other offerings from this author.

First time reading one of Katie Estill's books but it won't be the last I read! Quite an interesting and thought provoking story.......makes a person wonder how they would react if something like this happened to their family. Hard to put this book down......
Haunting story. A young teenage girl is killed in her home. The story revolves around the events of that evening and finding her killer. A difficult story at times. First time I've read anything by this author - not sure if I'll seek out other works or not.
Very interesting read. Beginning is a little slow but as you read more about the characters in the book, you begin to understand the events of Dahlia's death. Good read
You can't put this one down and it will keep you guessing to the end.
I loved this book...........
a moody, sort of dreamy book, but scary.

The violent murder of a young woman in a small Ozarks town twines together the lives of three women -- the murdered girl's stepmother, the neighbor who found her, and the police detective investigating the case.
It's not exactly a murder mystery -- the identity of the murderer is pretty obvious early on -- and the books' real meat lies in the investigation of the internal lives of these women and what the crime does to them.
