Incredibly complex and I found this less than interesting. All the main characters have nasty dispositions and are just plain boring. I made it to page 67 before giving up as it isn't worth my time to finish reading it.

Good reading. It kept me wondering what would happen next. It's about a very unusual father and son. Father a daemon and his son by a mortal.
This is the first two novels she wrote.
Eye of the Daemon and Eyes of the Empress. I don't go in for reading about sex and so skipped about 4 pages.
They run an Investigation and art recovery agency along with their cousin Lily, a full daemon.

This is one of my favorite books (actually an omnibus of 2 of them). The characters are complex as is the mythology. These are not demons as they are normally perceived, but much more complex beings totally outside of Judaeo-Christian mythology.
It is how the characters grow within the plot line that is interesting, discovering previously unknown emotions and mores.
