In 1982 a Houston, TX attorney and his wife were brutally shot to death as they slept. Two of their grandchildren slept on the floor nearby, but were unharmed. The most likely suspects were the couple's troubled daughter Cindy, mother of the two children who were present that night, and her survivalist boyfriend, David West. Two years later, the alibi of neither had been cracked. Then, a sexy ex-stripper-turned-private-investigator played up to West and managed to tape record his convession to the murder and implication of Cindy as an accessory. Clifford Irving has written a compelling account of a large cast of fascinating characters and their various motivations and agendas. He also explores all of the ugly family secrets, including alleged incest.

A very entertaining and engrossing book about a true murder case in Texas back in the early 80's. It is long and very detailed but it is hard to put down. The author has written several trial/mystery novels, so this was a little different in that it was a firsthand account of what happened as he researched this very real drama.
