The most important part thing I'd like to share with you is the fact that this book introduces Corey Douglas and his K-9 partner, Simon Garfunkel. Why they are important is because Corey and Simon are starting a new series for David Rosenfelt, the author of this series. The new series will be 'K-TEAM.' I've read the first entry and it is a great read.
However, this story is mainly about a fourteen-year-old murder of a young woman. The grimness of this court case is juxtapositioned against Laurie's insane plan to celebrate Christmas for 3 months (starting the day after Halloween). What's even crazier is that she convinces her family to participate in her plan. There's plenty of courtroom drama, biting sarcasm, and lively action. This makes for a great story. Enjoy.
