Everybody's read The Da Vinci Code - now read the book that Dan Brown supposedly plagiarized and judge for yourself. Written by Lewis Perdue, one of multiple authors suing Dan Brown, and published in 1983, The Da Vinci Legacy explores similar themes.

One of the most interesting aspects of this book is the fact that the "hero" is a man and he has a woman partner who is every bit as strong - and maybe moreso, than he is. The conspiracy they're stalking is a bit far-out, but still a good, fast read.

This is one of the most engrossing books I've read in ages - many elements dangling by the wayside. You delve into this story & may not surface again til the last page. The story moves through the major cities of Europe as the hunter becomes the hunted & true roles are exposed & innocents pay the price but who holds the ultimate secrets & claims the prize.

Reads like a cheap "da Vinci Code" the plot is not as gripping, nor are the characters, but it's a good thrilling read all the same. And this one came first!

one of the worst books I've read in over 10 years! ---spolier alert----

Interesting premise of a secret weapon described in a DaVinci codex that becomes the pawn of the story, but a hero who lacks survival skills but escapes from one murder attempt after another was just too outrageous.
The Church bashing was way overdone (made the DaVinci Code look like a pro-Catholicism story) and the romance was unbelievable with the couple who had always hated each other (or so it seemed) falling instantly in love when they go on the run together.
And the international conspiracy theory that tied it all together just made the story line so ridiculous that I wanted to burn it when I was done!

Another Da Vinci book, as good of a read as The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown. Not the same, but same subject matter.

If you liked the DA VINCI CODE, you're almost sure to like Perdue's book. It's a little more down-to-earth than CODE, and the possibilities and plot twists seem a bit more believable. There are so many similarities, though, that the authors obviously used some of the same sources.
Good story!
