Deadrise is an intriguing book with great character development. From the first page, I was captivated. The pace just accelerates as the pages fly by in this gripping, action-packed novel. While at times I did get a bit bored with all of the tedious details, it is sporadic and doesn't last long. Ben is a character I'd like to get to know better. He has several layers to his persona and I don't think they were all revealed in Deadrise. However, he's definitely someone you'd want in your corner.

I will say, though, that some of the slang had me thoroughly confused. Usually, you can figure out what the slang means by the sentence context, but I just did the best I could. It didn't deter from the storyline, in fact, it gave it believability. It just caused me to halt and stop alot. If you enjoy gripping thrillers, pick up Deadrise!
