I did something that is unusual for me, which was to read this book that is #3 in a series without reading the first two. Now I want to read the next one because Cut to the Bone ended with quite the cliffhanger!

This book should appeal to people who enjoy thrillers featuring serial killers. The government conspiracy aspects will entice Orphan X fans.

I'm struggling with sticking with this series, I'm thinking I like the characters then wham! they do something stupid and of course they all have their own problems that are mentioned (tiresome)

My problem with this one was all the information about Egypt and rituals etc. - that was okay until Cooper started 'lecturing' about Egypt, if you don't read the back flap that tells you about her then you should read it as it will explain why she gets into this kind of plot

I hit the point at about 3/4 point and started getting bored as it seemed to drag and I just wanted to get it over with so I skimmed a lot of pages at this point just so I could get it finished and move on to my next book

#3 in Altair series. 6 months after "Buried" left off, Sayer is still reeling from Holt being fired & her own job still in jeopardy. A new case of a busload of kidnapped kids kicks off a new investigation involving Sayer, Tino, Max, & Ezra. Early Egyptian mysticism, secrets long buried, fake FBI agents, & being blocked at every turn has them scrambling to figure out why the kids were taken and who really has them, & why they are being killed. An explosive twist of events & psycho subject 037 dropping hints along the way keeps this a nail biter to the end.
