That was an enjoyable paranormal romance. I always like stories set in Bordertown with the mix of "races", fae, demon, goblin and in-between. Luke is a wizard, Rio a bike messenger who is suddenly of interest to all the big players in town. Parts are a little silly, but satisfying story and I look forward to the next one.
You have to be able to tolerate silliness and bad metaphors, but this is a thoroughly enjoyable book. If you have read Day's Atlantis series, know this is much more light hearted.
Luke is kind of a sexy hulk with magical powers. When he gets mad he likes to blow things up and talk in cavemen sentences. Rio is just funny. There are also a bunch of interesting side characters.
I'm not sure if the series will continue with Luke and Rio or if Day plans to focus on about characters of Bordertown. This one and the short story that follows in another book are both well worth the read if you are into craziness and humor.
