Second story in "The Last Apprentice" series.
The seventh son of a seventh son, Thomas Ward is six months into his apprenticeship with the County's "Spook", John Gregory. The "Spook"'s job is to rid the county of witches, ghosts, boggarts, and other creatures of the night. In this story, Gregory the Spook and young Thomas have to subdue a formdiable evil creature called The Bane before it terrorizes the whole County.
Excellent story, exciting and well-written.

Great little ghost stories in this series! Love the character evolution!
Our apprentice continues his training and meets some interesting characters, discovers more information than he thought he would from his very quiet master and surprise himself along the way.
