An overall good story even though Drizzt's reflections that appear here and there get a bit whiny after awhile. I think I only read them to make sure I don't miss anything. It's not a favorite book in the series, because I've never been able to stand Wulfgar much but the rest of the gang is great.

Lets see. Magical do-hickey from the bowels of hell, demon, dragon, hordes of goblins etc, barbarian horde, Dark elf, dwarf, mule headed human leaders and lots of fighting. CHECK.
Not exactly great literature, but it IS a fun read if you like D&D campaigns in prose.

I read this in high school. If I remember right, it took me a day or 2 to read. That's always a good sign.
