If I could give this zero stars, I would.

I see positive reviews on the Crystal Moon books and I cannot help but feel indignant and disappointed. I am an avid sci-fi/fantasy reader and books like these cheapen and demean the genre. The books by Phillip "Big Dog" Jones are poorly written and cannot hold a candle to such classics as Tolkien, or even less acclaimed authors like Christopher Paolini.

The story had potential to be something entertaining, but became so bogged down with crude humor, disgusting imagery, infodumps, and wordy prose that reading it at all is an unpleasant chore.

I realize that this is the unedited, unfinished version (the fourth and final edition comes out August 21, 2010). I wonder how the author justifies charging people $20 for the privilege of reading his rough draft.

I have little hope for the final edition of this book, as the book has already gone through three iterations at this point and is still so terrible.
