Historical fiction is my favorite genre and medieval times are a frequent area that I visit. Many times current events influence the books that I pick up and w/ the wars in the Middle East the the caliphate being formed in Iraq it seemed like a good time to visit the crusades.

Ms. Young has created rich characters who are relevant to today's concerns and motivations. Adventure, greed that drive turmoil and alas the drama of relationships. Is peace in the world possible? Read on and form your own opinion!
