This is a stealth play: it's really about the McCarthy era anti-Communist persecutions, cloaked in the guise of the Salem witch trials. Really well-written.

It's a classic! What else can I say...

Note: This is a four-part play, not a novel. As a play it is well written, with a cast listing and an Appendix providing notes for different scenes etc.

I usually don't read plays, but this one was a breeze and enjoyable!
