Very well written. Told from different points of view at different times, the author pulls you into this family's story.
Poor Charlie Trumper inherits his grandfather's fruit and vegetable barrow. Success does not easy but Charley has a perservering trait that keeps him going for the gold

Archer is a master storyteller. You will care about the characters, relate to them, cheer them and hiss at the villian. This is a long book. This makes it possible to look forward to reading time for many days.

I liked this book, however, it is a bit long. If you stick with it is a very good book.
This is a larger book 789 pages, but it's the story of one man Charlie Trumper and his grandfather's fruit stand and his enterprising spirit. This book covers three continents and from the years of 1900 to 1970.
