The story begins in the tense summer before the outbreak of World War II. Armand de Villers, Ambassador of France, has been called home from Washington. Ms. Steel should stick to modern day contemporary fiction and romance. Not one of her best.
These books are in good shape but their not really the kind I like to read.My Mother-In-Law passed away a couple months ago and she had the whole set so would like to trade for books that I like to read.
Crossings is about a couple meeting on their ocean voyages. The book travels from France to America, Paris, New York and San Francisco. It begins the summer before WWII. Very good book.

Still a big fan after all these years, and Crossings is still a favorite of mine. I love how she incorporates the Normandie, Titanic, World War II and everthing in this book. Plus the love story of Liane and Nick is great as well. Makes you never want to give up hope. Great read!!

The cover of this paperback shows a scene from the miniseries version starring Christopher Plummer and Cheryl Ladd. I see very little wrong with the book other than a scuffed corner and obvious yellowing of the pages. I've not read this book - it was given to me, as were others I will list, and does not fall in my interest range. I hope you enjoy it!!
