Helpful Score: 1
I enjoyed his first book in the Border Trilogy, All the Pretty Horses, somewhat. This one has more than enough sidetracks and suppositions about the nature of life that it distracts from the storyline somewhat. Also, if you do not understand or read Spanish, you may have difficulty as many of the exchanges between characters are in Spanish.
a very interesting story
A wolf, a young man and a journey to Mexico in the late 1930's. Excellent coming of age story.
dark & captivating as his other work...

Brad Pitt does the narration for this audio book.
This 2nd book in The Border Trilogy is very hard to find in Audio CD format (when found it is very expensive). This version on audio cassettes (2 cassettes, 4 sides) is an abridgment.
Brad Pitt does a wonderful job of reading, and the writing is extraordinary. The story is ultimately very sad and touching, but the tone is very much like All the Pretty Horses--absolutely beautifully done.
