I have never read anything by Godden before - this was my first. The information on India was very interesting and this was based on a real event. A Shiva is missing, ending up with a Canadian art dealer who swears he purchased it legally. How did he get it? How was it stolen in the first place? A young lawyer from London is sent to India to investigate.
