It didn't look good. The last message Washington received from the U.S. ship Regulus reported an unidentified aircraft approaching with unclear intentions. Then nothing. Another ship was sent to investigate, but all the crew found was wreckage floating in the Persian Gulf. Suspicions immediately turned to a terrorist attack.
