The story circles around a medical malpractice lawsuit and circles and circles and circles. Characters were slow to develop with little empathy to draw me into the story. The basic premise of "concierge medicine" controversy was overshadowed by the overlong and repetitive trial dialogue. There was a surprise twist ending that to me was just "what?". As a side note regarding the actual audiobook - some of my impatience with the story itself may have been with having to change from disc to disc after only 25 minutes, a 12 disc box probably could have been made into a 6 disc book unabridged.

This is an interesting and detailed story of a malpractice suit against a seemingly conscientious and concerned doctor. The narrative further delves into the current state of medical practice wherein a doctor must often weigh the profitability of his practice against spending adequate time to allow sufficient diagnosis and treatment of patients and the resulting rise of concierge medicine. Additional personal issues of the characters are further explored and there is more action than expected. The plotting of the story seems to evolve slowly and is rich with detail then concludes with a very sudden twist. I believe I would have preferred the abridged version but overall enjoyed the book.

Fantastic story!!!! It will keep you guessing till the last second and then some!
This book was a little slow getting started and a bit confusing as most of the focus is on a trial.
The ending is completely unexpected, although my guess was off but in the right direction.
I listen while driving to and from work and this was a good book.
