Having read (and adored) "Hush, Hush", I was truly looking forward to reading this book. Sadly, I was quite let down by it.

"Crescendo" picks up a few weeks after "Hush, Hush", Nora is now in a relationship with Patch (who has transitioned into her Guardian Angel). She's still at odds with Marcie, and still best friends with Vee. You don't get very far into the book when things start going south.

At what could be deemed a pivitol moment in their relationship, Patch seemingly freezes out Nora, leading to strain on their relationship. I felt Nora was acting like a petulant child during this, not a girl on the cusp of adulthood. I know a lot of teenage girls and none of them are as whiny or passive-aggressive as Nora is in the bulk of this book.

Enter Scott, a former neighbor of Nora's who moved back to town and seems to be hiding a dark past of his own. Only problem is he's not quite so much a bad boy as he is a psycho boy. This boy is, more often then not, over-the-top insane. The only addition to the book I enjoyed was Rixon, a fallen angel and Patch's friend who begins dating Vee. I enjoyed his character throughout most of the book.

While I did enjoy the twist at the ending, I did sort of see it coming. While the book had it's flaws, I will definitely be checking out the next book in the series. With an ending like this, I have to know how the whole thing turns out in the end. Fitzpatrick is a good author; her word choice and description is stellar work, but I found her main character to be a bit too needy and insecure for my tastes.

I received an Advance reading copy of this book, it is due out October 19. While I usually don't have spoilers in my reviews, I will in this one, so be warned.

**********SPOILER ALERT*************

After reading hush, hush, and being severely disappointed, I hoped Crescendo would make a strong comeback. My hopes were quickly destroyed. I had to force myself to finish it. This book is even worse than hush, hush! The characters have gotten more annoying, and the story line is completely out of whack. Here are my words to describe Nora, the lead character, annoying, stupid, liar, thief, and idiot. Vee, her best friend is even more annoying that last time. Patch is on the tip of driving you crazy, but thankfully he isn't in this much. It is just the same thing through the entire book, Nora and Vee, "Lets play spy like we are 10 years old!" "Yea good idea, lets steal things that aren't ours, stalk people, and break into place illegally!" Lame. They honestly do this four or five times throughout the book. After the second, it gets really old. Nora steals things left and right, yea thats a really good example. Then she thinks its a good idea to follow and stalk people that are obviously dangerous. She purposely puts herself into dangerous positions even though she tells herself it is wrong.

The story line is completely bogus. It doesn't keep track with anything that is going on. Once, Nora gets a card from Patch that has a drug in it that makes her pass out, and the next day she feels safe enough to talk calmly to him. WHAT?!?!? If you don't trust this guy, and he is obviously involved with someone you hate, why are you being so naive? UGH!

It is just an awful book. The characters lack character, the plot is a plop. I do admit, the ending was better than I had hoped for, but not by much. I am sorry to all hush, hush fans, but this book sucks. 0 out of 5 stars. And I only gave it half a star on here because I had to do something to write this review.

Oh Norawhat are we going to do with you? I really liked Nora in the first book. She was relatively smart, interesting, had some bad luck for sure, but overall I liked her. But its like somewhere along the way between the end of Hush Hush and the beginning of Crescendo, Nora read the Twilight series and she said to herself, Wow, that Bella Swan is amazing! I want to be like her!

So basically, Nora felt to me like a slightly less irritating version of Bella Swan. Like, when did her life become all about Patch and what hes doing, what hes thinking, why he doesnt say he loves her? I hated how she was all Oh I dont care about what Patch is doingwait, I want to be where Patch is going to be, how can I get there!

it kills me how so many folks write bad reviews on books I enjoy so much. I really enjoyed Hush Hush and Crescendo equally. In this installment, We learn the backround on Nora's true family and bloodline. And as per usual in a series, there is a cliffhanger in the end. I really dont like to compare YA books to Twilight series, however there were too many similarities to ignore. I will continue this series and look forward to the next book.

This was a wonderful second book in the hush hush series. Yes Nora does some odd things that makes me wonder why, but you have to wonder what would you do if you felt the same emotions etc. The story flowed very nicely, though a few parts could have been moved out to keep it fast paced. I cannot wait for the third book.

Love this series. Great characters & storyline. I couldn't put it down. Would recommend to anyone that loves the Twilight series or Breautiful Creatures series.

I totally loved this book and this series has become one of my favorites. I read this book in about a day because I just couldn't keep away from it. I loved Hush, Hush and this book added so much more to the story.

In this book we see all of the same characters and are introduced to a few more. Scott is a good addition to the story although it took me until the end to really warm up to him. I still love Vee. She is feisty and adventurous and pushes Nora in the right directions. I did find myself hoping that Nora would confide in Vee, especially considering who she ends up dating.

I will say that this book was great, but infuriating at the same time. I almost threw my Kindle at one point, but stopped before I made that mistake. I wanted to slap more than one person most of the time. I also have to say that there wasn't nearly enough Patch in this book! There were many interesting revelations and you get so much more of the story.

I highly recommend this series. It is interesting and different. It also has one of the best bad boy characters! Read it!!

I couldn't really get into this book. I forced myself through the first few chapters then put it down and haven't gone back since. Nora has become extremely annoying and I couldn't handle all the teenage angst.

One of the things I noticed about this book is that Nora really likes going through windows in every single situation she finds herself in. That was kind of amusing but very very repetitive.
I also did not like how Fitzpatrick seemed to jump around with the plot. It seemed like there was a story line about Patch and the archangels first, then it was about Scott, then her dad, and then Patch again, wait.... then issues with Scott. It didn't seem to really flow right.

I DID like the cliffhanger at the end. It kept things mysterious because you thought shit was good and then BAM! it wasn't. I liked that

Good book overall
