This book promised more than it gave; where's the legacy? This book was incredibly turgid; the conversations between Brody and Carolyn were boring. Brody and Carolyn were an item eight years ago. When he received a mysterious phone call, he wrote a note to Carolyn and disappeared for years without a word.

Now, Brody is back and wants to resume the relationship with Carolyn. Carolyn spends a great deal of time in her head debating whether she should give him another chance. Frankly, anyone waiting 8 years for a guy who left a note that said (essentially), I have to leave,' is dumber than dirt. Brody never made an effort to communicate with Carolyn during all those years; that's a loving relationship she should resume?

Brody and Connor Creed are identical twins about 33 years of age. They have a history of estrangement that has lasted more than 10 years. Then one day, Brody comes back to the ranch he and Connor inherited. He announces he is back to stay.

This book was repetitious and very wordy. The only conversations of any interest to me were the ones between all 3 men: Davis, Connor and Brody. There didn't seem to be much chemistry between Carolyn and Brody.
I finished the book but felt I'd wasted my time. LLM's older historical novels were much better.

I think I definitley prefer Miller's historic romance. This Creed series is just not working out for me. I did enjoy Steven's story, but I really disliked Connor and Brody's. I had such high hopes for Brody and Carolyn too because I fell in love with them in Connor and Tricia's story.

First of all there is a huge inconsistency in the series. In Connor's story, Carolyn knew exactly why Brody left her. She even had a huge conversation with Tricia about it.

Second, Brody and Carolyn had such boring exchanges and lame conversations. I was really forcing myself to read every word. Most of their conversations were the same and when they finally got together, I had no idea what motivated Carolyn to gave in. It's ironic because Miller spent so much time inside these characters' heads but again going in circles. What were awesome characters in Connor's story turned very dull and boring here.

I adored the interaction between Brody, Connor, and Davis though. The conversation was interesting and filled with fun.

I have to say I read about 75% of the book and realized that I shouldn't have to force myself to read every page. I decided I had wasted enough time on characters I don't care about and stopped reading.

If you didn't like this book, try Miller's other stuff. They aren't bad.
