Part of a series, this book has all the adventure, heartache, and steamy scenes one person can handle. If you enjoy the charming mixture of suspense and romance, you'll love this book.

First in the series. I picked it up based on the recommendation by Jayne Ann Krentz, and I'm glad I did. This story jumps right into the action with alpha heroes, intelligent women and muscle cars. It was pretty unique for me to read about engines and turbo charging and I loved it! The cool cars all have names too, like Betty and Jeanette. Be warned, "f" word is used in printing, also unusual. Loved the HOT HOT HOT scenes..........really well done. Cannot be too long, IMNSHO!

Thirteen years ago Christian Hawkins saved teenage Katya Dekker from rape (and possibly death) and ended up in jail for his troubles. Pardoned two years later, he was snapped up by SDF, a black ops team of outlaw warriors working for the US government. Now Katya and Christian are back together and the sparks are once again flying. He's pissed since she did nothing to help at his trial and she's dismayed because she knows she was wrong. Can the socialite and the street kid ever see eye to eye? We have 415 pages to find out.

I liked Christian and Katya from the beginning and was really invested in their shared past and their future. I really liked the first book in this series and this one was even better.

This is a great series that holds your interest. I love the way each book builds on the characters you met in the book before.

If possible read the books in the order they were written. Each book stands on its own. But once you've read one your going to want to read the rest and it spoils things if you already know what's going to happen.

SHE'S SIZZLING HOT, HE'S ICY COOL...He called her Bad Luck Dekker, a gorgeous socialite who trailed trouble in her wake. Christian Hawkins should know. Thirteen years ago he saved Kat Dekker's life--only to spend two years in jail for a crime he didn't commit. Now it's deja vu all over again when he rescues Kat from an explosion that rips through a Denver art auction. This time Christian--now an operative with an elite u.s. task force--plans to keep her close until he figures out why somebody wants to kill her. That is, if he can keep his cool around this sizzling-hot lady...
THEY'RE FIRE AND ICE. AND CRAZY IN LOVE. The daughter of a senator, Kat hasn't forgotten the hot summer nights of passion in Christian's arms before everything went wrong. Now, as the bullets start flying, the sexy, self-appointed bodyguard is back in her life in a major way. Especially when Christian kidnaps her and they go roaring into the night in his brute-powered muscle car. But staying out of danger is tough for two people who are this hot for each other, a little bit crazy, and a whole lot in love...
