Craig Harrison (born 1942 in Leeds, Yorkshire) is a retired lecturer, author and playwright, best known for the science fiction novel The Quiet Earth, first published in 1981 and later adapted as a screenplay for the film of the same name, directed by Geoff Murphy and released in 1985. Other notable works include the novel Broken October, which explores a M?ori rebellion in a future New Zealand. Harrison holds an MA from Leeds University, and moved to New Zealand in 1966 to join the faculty of Massey University. He is an alumnus of Prince Henry's Grammar School, Otley.
