I really enjoyed Cowgirl Up and Ride. Even though the sex was hot, it was the characters that drew me in. AJ has been in love with Cord since she was 5 years old. Cord has always seen AJ as his kid sister's best friend. AJ, now 22, has decided that she's waited long enough for Cord to notice her and takes matters into her own hands. His reaction when she propositions him is great.
I have to admit that I had a problem with their ages at first; AJ being 22 and Cord being 35. However, my concerns were laid to rest with AJ's maturity. She had to grow up fast and she wasn't a typical 22 year old. She had a good head on her shoulders and I truly admired her for not wanting to settle. She knew what she wanted and wasn't going to have it any other way. Cord had relationship issues since his first wife left him. He didn't want to admit to any feelings for AJ, in case she did the same thing. He wanted to keep things on a purely physical level, but AJ was getting under his skin and he didn't know how to handle it. I think James did a great job dealing with all the ups and downs of their relationship in a realistic manner and I was really rooting for them. I also enjoyed the dynamics of their families and the issues that arose there. This is my favorite in this series so far.

The Rough Riders series just keeps getting better and better! AJ is one determined young lady and she has set her sights on the almost mythical rancher, Cord. Cord is the eldest of the rowdy McKay boys who have a wild reputation in the wilds of Wyoming. Lorelei James expertly brings the reader into her most heartfelt story yet. My heart was racing while AJ thawed out the reluctant Cord. He was more than raring to go to be her sexual tutor, but she really hung tough while he tried to deny his emotional attraction.
Ms. James also takes an interesting look at the dangerous detachment that can come from overindulgence of flesh, drugs and alcohol. Not something most erotica writers would dare address since more is better seems the theme of the day.
Cowgirl Up and Ride is totally satisfying for romantics with a weak spot for alpha males, cowboys and strong women! Highly recommended!

Not my favorite of this series but it was a good erotic read. I like to read all the books in a series I look so I wouldnt have missed this one.

Great book! Very romantic and HOT!!! One of my favorites in the series. True love with a touch of BDSM. Gotta love Alpha males to love this book. Very nice!

My favorite book of the Rough Rider series, close 2nd is Long Hard Ride (book 1). Really hot sex scenes, yet a good story and great chemistry between AJ and Cord. Not only is the story a big turn on, but the cover makes me sweat and is exactly how I picture the characters. The conflict scene and make up scenes are very touching. The whole series (up to 10 now) is my dirty little secret.
