Brett feels so bad about the bust-up that he tries to teach the rather uncouth Frank about romance. Frank's idea of a great gift is to give Kate a new wheel for her wagon. Definitely, Frank needs help. Frank also seems to be highly allergic to all four-legged beasts and birds, which is a problem for animal-fanatic Kate.
The Texas Ranger is in Haywire, TX, to curtail the rampant robbery spree that is going on. However, the town's sheriff is underwhelmed with the assistance Brett offers. Kate runs the town's sweet shop and soon crime visits her.
Margaret Brownley has become a new favorite but this story is almost too syrupy sweet. It lacks something; the story simply doesn't speak to me. It just seems to drag from one scene to the next. There are plenty of unique secondary characters who add much to the town. However, it just doesn't make up for a plot that lacks real substance. Overall score = 3.5 stars
