This was such a wonderful book, I doubt I could put in words what really needs to be said. First, this story could be right out of today's headlines. Book description and other reviewers pretty much cover what the book is about. Second, written in first person, this is Kara's story. I don't really care for first person accounts, but this one was great, and it needed to be told this way. Book is not preachy at all, though there is limited scriptures used. My heart ached for how these young children were treated. I could understand how hard it would be for these 2 sisters to trust in someone they could not remember, especially after all the lies they had been told about their stepmother. Greed is the driving force that tries to destroy two innocent lives, yet love and compassion try so hard to rescue them. Highly recommend.

I don't know if I've ever read Blackstock before, but I will be keeping an eye out for more of her books! Helped me to see the blessed Christian heritage I've been graced with. A touching fiction, yet very easily true!

Another top-notch book from Terri Blackstock. Riveting story of how adversity affects twins. Reminds me of the way some people reject God's goodness and how far we have to descend into problems before we are willing to make changes. So engrossing that I read it in one day!!! Recommend

Excellant book. The story is sad and it reads like reality even though it is fiction.

This was a good story. Two children grow up with terrible grandparents while their stepmother is trying to get them back. She loves them her whole life and never gives up. Finally when they turn 18 things change wonderfully for all of them. A little different than Terri Blackstock's books that I have read but a good story nonetheless.

Twins Kara and Lizzie know that they are "billion dollar babies" - deprived of their inheritance and forced to live with uncaring relatives in a ramshackle trailer. Amanda, their stepmother, has always been painted as uncaring and a thief of their money..

Amanda shows up one day with gifts and an amazing story and an even more amazing offer. Lizzie believes her wholeheartedly, Kara is suspicious.

Good, compelling story.

This may be one of the best Terri Blackstock books I've read. It's so compelling you don't want to put it down. It's about God's mercy and neverending love for us, how forgiveness can heal and perseverance and keeping your word is honorable and worthy. Awesome!

Great book that is a metaphor for how Christ loves us. Blackstock is a good author and you will enjoy this book as much as her others, although it's not her usual suspenseful type (for me anyway).

From the way this novel was written, to the characters filling to the pages, to the story that grabbed my heart, Covenant Child is a novel to be cherished and shared.

I cant honestly say I enjoyed this story as a means of pure entertainment. The story is exceptional, dont get me wrong, but because of the strong subject matter, it quickly becomes a story that I wanted to see redeemed.

The main character of Kara is a bitter young woman and if the story werent written from her perspective, as one who stands back and looks back on her life, I think I would have become fatigued with her. But to see the struggles of Kara and Lizzie and not have your heart wrenched is an impossibility.

The story is gripping from one chapter to the next moving on a swift emotional roller coaster. My heart was jerked more than one time.

I loved that the story was first person, it truly came alive. Though I would have loved to experience the story from Amandas point of view.

I believe this is a rerelease from a previous edition, but the story is timeless. A stirring story from a masterful story teller and a wonderful allegory for Gods unending grace and love.

This review is my honest opinion. My thanks to the publisher for my copy to review.
