Good book in a good series. Sometimes I forget that Jane is a former street kid and get a bit incredulous that she's so composed for a 21 year old. But then I think about the previous books and what she's gone through and hey, it's fiction and keep on liking the story. I took it to jury duty with me and finished it in 4 hours:)
Now I'd like to see MacDuff story and Jock's stories!

An Eve Duncan Forensics Thriller- but really is mostly about Jane McGuire, Eve and Joe's adopted daughter. Mark Trevor re-enters Jane's life both to protect her and to enlist her help. The enemies this time are Reilly who brainwashes men into being killers and Grozak, who is planning terrorist attacks across America. Thrown in is Cira, an ancient slave and mega woman whom all concerned seem fascinated with. The action takes place in Scotland, Italy and America and is fast pace and intense. Another good read by Johansen

After a botched kidnapping attempt and the death of a friend, Jane MacGuire is running for her life. The only man who can help her is Mark Trevor, a con man who has his own reasons for wanting to keep Jane safe from a relentless killer. As Jane and Trevor try to solve a 2,000 year old mystery of Cira's gold, they need to stop international terrorists from carrying out their deadly plot.

This is a continuation of Johansen's previous book, Blind Alley. When I finished Blind Alley, I was relieved the hunt for Cira's gold was over. In this book we are hunting for it again, going up against international terrorists who want the gold too. I was so BORED with this story. At least the last 100 pages were somewhat interesting. And, I'm sorry to say, we still haven't found the treasure. I hope this plot isn't revisited in the next book or I may have to just give up on this series. My rating: 2 Stars.
