A man's obsession with number, especially the number 11, leads him down a path to insanity. His rationalizations for committing murder are simplistic yet disturbing, and Ramsey does a decent job, in my opinion, with character development. The obsession with the number 11 started to get annoying after a while, as most of his thoughts and actions were somehow tied to a number, usually 11 or 13. The ending wasn't quite what I expected and I was a tad disappointed. I also would have liked to have seen a slower progression into the madness... it would have made the character a little more believable. But overall it was a good book I'd recommend to anyone who likes suspense/horror/thriller ficiton. It may make you rethink trashing the next chain letter you get.
