Great book; touching and evocative story of mothers and daughters. You grow up thinking you'll never be like your mother, and you'll never treat your own daughter the way you were treated. But history has a strange and sometimes wonderful way of repeating itself!

Great example of the relationships between mothers and daughters of different generations in small town Texas. Both endure their own trials into becoming the women they are today.

3 generations of women in a family in a small town in Texas. It was very hard to care about the first protagonist as she was so narrow minded, and controlling. However, it is a good book about mother daughter relationships and worth the read.
