For anyone that has ever had a crazy childhood dream - Pollack is an inspiration. As a kid he dreamed of building a boat from winecorks- which his family and friends dutifully collected. However...life intervened and his childhood dream was shelved until he had a bit of identity crisis.

The book is all at once a travel book, an engineering feat, a relationship story and a personal memoir. While I had hoped for more photos of the boat itself, I really enjoyed hearing about this quite unusual undertaking and the long journey from bowl of corks to a cruise through Portugal.
