This is a great book if you are just getting started. It has more tips than it does patterns. Don't get me wrong, there are still quite a few basic patterns in this book. It was my first knitting book. So if you are just starting out, and want some fun and helpful tips along with some good and fun first patterns, then this is the book for you!

Athough a little outdated (the patterens) knitting techniques never change, and it has helpful pictures.
I did not post this book because I will not part with my copy of it. This is a great book to learn from and to keep going back to.
I bought this book when my daughter, home from college for the summer, was bored and kind of wanted to learn to knit. Well, she knits now and I knit now, too. When she went back to school in September neither one of us wanted to give up this book so I bought another copy for her to have.
The instructions in the book are well presented and the patterns are for things a person really is happy to have. Both of us cool girls, very different ages, love this book.
