This seems to be a book that either you really enjoy or you don't. Unfortunately, I was on the "don't" end. It started off strong and interesting but then it just seems to drag on. Things happened here and there. There was no real climax. It was just a slow moving story. Wasn't really overly impressed by any of the characters either. The story mainly revolves around 3 female characters, who were decent for most part but also had a real nasty side to them as well. The characters I most liked were in the backdrop of the book and male. They were Jonah and Bean. I enjoyed when they were part of the book. Also, I thought the title a bit deceiving. I was hoping the book was full of conjuring, hoodoo, magic but it had just a bit here and there. I had a hard time getting myself to finish the book at the halfway point. Stuck with it and was happy with the ending.
