For a book that purports to demolish the myth of the gamer stereotype, this how-to guide only succeeds in furthering the stereotype of the vapid, vacuous female. From the beginning, "I am a girly girl", to the end, "All a woman really needs to be happy in life is a new pair of shoes", this commercial endeavor (the book really is just an infomercial) never considers that not all women are driven by greed and gossip.

Wizards of the Coast could have used this as an opportunity to reach out to potential customers with a mature and entertaining book about girls and gaming, instead they succumbed to pop culture; the women portrayed within could have come off the set of Beverly Hills 90210.

As a female D&D player, I was happy to see a book like this - that is, until I read it. Instead of attracting women to D&D, I think that it just furthers many of the stereotypes about women - that all we care about is shopping and shoes and manicures and whatnot. I had to skim the last pages because I truly couldn't stand reading anything more that this author had written.

I actually enjoyed the book. I found it funny. I loved reading some parts to my hudband and even my DM who busted out laughing. I would have enjoyed it better if she was a little bit less of a twit but it was funnier with her having designer boots writen on her CS. I think it wasn't really made to get girls into game but to entertain the ones who had already found it or atleast give their Beau's a gift that might get the to understand why they don't want to meet you at the movies Saturday because every Saturday he hosts a D&D game.
