This is an amazing story of Condoleezza Rice, Secretary of State, in the cabinet of President George W. Bush. Many believe her to be one of the most influential women in America. Although the book includes interviews from persons who know her the portrait of Ms. Rice is limited. It's like looking at edited snap shots of her life. It's really a story about the factors that influenced her career choices and political choices.

Condolezza the person is vague - she speaks 3 languages, she studied and plays classical piano, loves football, daddy's girl, was taught by outstanding professors at the University of Denver and Notre Dame University, she was faculty/administrator at Stanford and her connections to the Bush family is documented.

If you want to read a history about her rise to power this is the book. If you want to know what makes her tick read between the line.

Condoleezza is an incredible person. This biography opened my eyes to how incredibly intelligent, self-driven, and well-rounded this woman is. She's mastered everything from piano to ballet and even has a love for football. Most importantly she has been an incredible asset to our country given her extensive knowledge of foreign affairs. This is a very interesting book as Condoleezza is an interesting person.

As National Security Advisor and a close confidant to President Bush, Condoleezza Rice is the most influential woman in the history of the United States government, and perhaps one of the most famous blck women in the world. Her latest stint in Washington, D.C., follows a distinguished career as scholar, professor, provost, and foreign policy advisor that has taken her from Birmingham, Alabama, to Denver, Colorado, to Palo Alto, California, to the White House - all by the age of 47.

I enjoyed learning more about a national leader. Condi is so very interesting that I'd like to know more about what she's done lately and obviously, what she'll be doing next. What a great role model for any young girl. The book is a little too praise-worthy, not much criticism and no skeletons in her closet.
