Although this is a quick read, I did not enjoy it as much as I thought I would. I had heard so many great things about it, but I just couldn't sympathize with the main character. Not sure why really. Maybe because it's written in choppy English the way that I suppose she speaks English. I was so hung up on how badly she speaks, that I couldn't see the rest of the story. Maybe that was the point...I don't know. I just know that I couldn't get into it.

Loved the book! loved the bad English it was worded very realistic! I thought the relationship part of the story was weak. but her life in general was a great story line. You definitely get a good feel for how hard it is to try and gap duel languages & cultures.
