Some of Wells is reasonable, particularly for its time. Some of Wells isn't so hot, particularly when he goes into socialist rants. As this is a (relatively) complete set of all the SF he wrote, you get some of each. For historical reasons, it is interesting. If you're not in it for the history, then The War Of The Worlds and The Invisible Man are the best SF he produced, The Time Machine is OK, and I'd skip the rest.
