I was looking forward to reading this book and learning new tips. Out of 154 pages, I got 8 tips - 4 of them from Mary and the other 4 from regular folks. What I didn't "like" about this book was the religious overtones. There was an entire chapter on "The Principle of Giving" or how to "expose yourself to supernatural intervention." Or tithing, giving to God, a religious organization, etc. Plus, the quiz to see if you're a good money makeover candidate wasn't effective. Out of 25 questions, if you answered yes to "three or fewer statements, you are probably okay for now, but you should consider this a warning sign. Unless you change your ways, problems do lie ahead for you." I answered yes to the following question - I worry about money quite a bit. Doesn't everyone? I do have savings to cover at least 6 months of unemployment, I do invest 15% of my income into a retirement account, I do pay my bills on time. I just feel, especially in today's economy, a little apprehensive about the situation. Good for a trade but I would really consider taking Mary up on her money-back guarantee. Unfortunately, no receipt!
