This is my first book by this author. The premise sounded fun and I was able to obtain it at a local used book store.
However, the first few chapters seemed to drag and I had a problem maintaining interest. Also, in the beginning each chapter seem to alternate between the present and flashbacks. Finally, I realized that the chapters were switching back and forth between two characters in the same time frame. Sometimes, half a chapter would be from one character's viewpoint and then switch to the second character for the other half of the chapter.
Once I finally clued in to what the author was doing I began to enjoy the story. I'll be reading the sequels as this is a trilogy.
