Truly horrifying, and enlightening, if you've ever been taken this book will be familiar to you, if you have an inkling that you have been taken, it will open up memories, this is not for the closed minded.

If you are interested in UFOs and aliens and you have not read this book, I have to wonder why! This is the best book ever written on alien abduction. Very sincere and sensibly written. It will scare the hell out you! Now that there is a US astronaut in the news claiming that aliens and UFOs exist and are regularly visiting the earth, this book is worth taking a look at. This book was a New York Times bestseller and very controversial at the time. But, maybe.......just maybe, this author is telling the truth! It gave me chills but I couldn't put it down, a very good book.

Would be a good read for the right person. I found it very analytically written and a bit much to wade through. But interesting none the less.

This is the creepiest book I have ever read. It was in the 90's and it had such a profound affect on me at the time that I actually had nightmare's. I loved watching scary movies my entire life...Nightmare on Elm St., Psycho, Silence of the Lambs and others and nothing ever bothered me. Communion, however, touched a nerve because for three nights in a row I'd wake up and "see" shadowy aliens hovering around the sides and foot end of our bed. This happened while I was reading the book, but as soon as I finished it, the nightmares stopped. I get the goosebumps just thinking about it!

I remember reading this book when it was first published like 20 years ago. I was up much of the night reading it, and it disturbed me so much I had to sleep with the lights on for days after. Strieber's sincerity were utterly convincing and terrifying. No other book has scared me so much, and I have read hundreds.

That said, I will be ordering it again from PBS sometime in the near future. It's been so long and I am long overdue for a good creep-out!

File Under: Ufology, Forteana

Blurb: On December 26, 1985, at a secluded cabin in upstate New York, Whitley Strieber went skiing with his wife and son, ate Christmas dinner leftovers, and went to bed early.

Six hours later, he found himself suddenly awake...and forever changed.

Thus begins the most astonishing true-life odyssey ever recorded -- one man's riveting account of his extraordinary experiences with visitors from "elsewhere" ...how they found him, where they took him, what they did to him and why...

Believe it. Or don't believe it. But read it -- for this gripping story will move you like no other...will fascinate you, terrify you, and alter the way you experience your world.

My Thoughts: This is essential reading for anyone interested in "alien abduction" phenomena or Forteana in general. Strieber's account (if it is that) was sort of a cultural springboard for ETs and the folks who claim to be probed by them. Strieber leaves his analysis of the events described in _Communion_ open-ended. Recommended.

In my opinion, if you are drawn to read this book, it is likely you've had a *strange* experience of your own, even if you cannot consciously recall anything. I was drawn to read this book, several years ago, and it really resonated with me, at some unconscious level. It is truly a classic.

This book was given by one of my high school teachers, he told me it would freak me out and boy was he right. Years later i still own the book and plan on reading it again in the near future. I read often and this is the only book that has truly scared me so bad to where i could not sleep at night.
