I took this class, used this book and found it worked very well with my special needs foster children. It has some new ideas that well are common sense that dont get used today. It took some adjustment to change the way I parent. It is very direct.

This book is an excellent book for a beginner parent. My husband and I used this book as a base to a Catholic Taught Parenting class where the instructor taught us from a more religion aspect and incorporated this information in. She made this book excellerate and I can say we learned exactly what the State Department of Child Protection Services does not wnat you to know, and that is whats even more proper than what they teach in their state classes!

I used this book in conjunction with a volentary parenting class through our school district. This is a very easy read and has some very helpful information. I didn't read until my child was in 4th grade. I would recommend reading while you child is still young. This will help deal with the very common behavior problems that occur.
