It's different from Smith's other novels.. has more romance than her other ones. I have all of her books.. so I would recommend them all if someone likes this one.

From back of book:

One fateful summer day, Mallory's world crumbled before her eight-year old eyes. Suddenly, her parents, her home and her innocence were gone - destroyed in a fiery explosion. When it was all over, only rage, pain and unanswered questions remained.

After years of struggle, Mallory Caine seems finally to have come the terms with the hand she's been dealt. She has wealth, fame and the love of a good man. As a provocative syndictaed talk-show host, she can bring about justice for anyone - except for her murdered parents.

But suddenly the past descends on her once again, and Mallory becomes tangled in a web of deceit and violence woven by a cruel and powerful figure.

Now, finding the truth about her parents' murder is an obsession. With the clock ticking, Mallory is drawn into a deadly contest with a madman set on revenge.

In this absorbing tale, Smith (Guilt by Silence) chronicles the lives of two sisters, Mallory and Diana Caine. As children in the 1960s, the girls saw their parents killed in an act of violence that the police dismissed as a drug deal gone bad. But Mallory, haunted by conflicting memories of the event, progresses from a rebellious teen raised by the degenerate preacher she calls The Rev to a popular talk-show hostess determined to clear her parents' names. Along the way, she has a brief love affair with Drew Beekman of the Newport Beach Beekmans. Drew's daddy, it turns out, has a keen personal interest in Mallory?an interest tied to her parents' lives.
