Barbara Delinsky writes down-to-earth, human stories. This is a good story with some unexpected twists.
Sabrina Stone looks like a society wife ~~ all glitter and glam only to show Derek McGill that she is a woman made of substance. And their love story takes you from the top of a Manhattan rooftop to the farmland in Vermont. There are murder, intrigue and steamy sex scenes written in this little book.
On her Manhattan rooftop terrace, elegant Sabrina Stone looks like a society wife, except for the handicpped child in her arms. She speaks with investigative reporter Derek McGill for only a few minutes, it is long enough to tell her all she needs to know about this caring man. Sabrina next meets Derek in a maximum security prison, after he is convicted of murder. She comes to tell him she believes in his innocence and finds him a man hardened by experience yet one who still loves her and her son. But to commit herself Sabrina must finally end her marriage, and begin a fight for the man's freedom that holds no guarantees, only the promise of fulfilling all of their dreams.
Barbara Delinsky is wonderful.
I can never put her books down once I pick them up.

Sabrina Stone married wealthy and unwisely, and she's paying the price, wedded to a man who refuses to accept their handicapped son and denying her attraction to reporter Derek McGill, who interviews her for a story on parents of special children. Months later, in the midst of a divorce, Sabrina receives a shock............
Barbara Delinsky is one of my favorite authors and this book, written in 1987 is an example of one of her best stories. It's about a woman, Sabrina Stone, who struggles to care for her brain-damaged child and threat it has to her marriage. Her life changes when she meet Derek McGill who has been convicted of murder and is in prison. It's all about how love conquers all. A great read!
I always enjoy Barbara Delinsky's books.

I wasn't so thrilled with the ending of this book. I felt that the beginning was great, but towards the end the author hurried up to tie up the story neatly.
Good read.

I just recently finished reading this book. Once again, Barbara Delinsky does not disappoint. The contents/subject matters in all of her books are thought provoking. Her characters are realistic and her style of writing compels you to want to keep reading more. This was a fantastic book - I have yet to read anything she has published that I haven't enjoyed. I highly recommend this to anyone who may be a fan of her writing.
Love this book (and this author.) The whole innocent-ex-con thing really does it for me.
I love this book. Maybe it's the rich girl findng love in with the poor guy. Maybe it's seeing right win in the end. Maybe it's the home Sabrina made in the country with Derek. Could be the working out of major family problems. Whatever, it is a great read and I've reread it many, many times.
A very good book as are all of Delinsky's writings. Romance and suspence combine to make a hard to put down book.
I have always loved anything that Barbara Delinsky writes.
I liked this book.
