Dominic Desota, a mild-mannered real estate broker, is accused by the FBI of breaking in a hush-hush, top-secret labratory where experiments are performed testing the theories of quantum mechanics (portals into other worlds), if they existed. Though the security guards have collected evidence (finger prints) of one Dominic Desota (Nick, to his friends), Nick knows that someone has found a way to commit the perfect crime without paying the ultimate cost.
