About 1/3 of the way through the book, I began to wonder if this was a book I could regret reading. Sure enough, it was. I could have easily skipped right over this book in the series and been all the happier. How can an author encourage her readers to go through 20+ books in a series, and then give it a horrible, tragic ending? As an avid reader of her work, I did not appreciate that. And, I can guarantee I will be hesitant to let myself get pulled into any more of her series. If you love the Baxters, please consider skipping this one, to spare yourself the unneeded heartache.
I couldn't finish it. Much too sad. I know Karen Kingsbury is a beloved author, but I don't know why she would write such a heartbreaking book. Real life is hard enough and I can't read books with this much tragedy. I can't recommend this one:(
Starts out sort of boring for long time readers of the series. Except for the new development with 3 of Erin's adopted children, everything seems a repeat...because it is.
But, hang on. Just before midbook a new crisis is on the horizon. It will keep you engaged to the last page.
Great for newcomers to the Baxter series, it will whet their appetite for what was before. The second half is a fitting conclusion for those who have read the series and seen the Baxter's hold together through trial and triumph.
Recommend only for newbies or those who have read all of the others...just my opinion.

This is another great by Karen Kingsbury. You will need to have your tissue ready.
This is a great ending to this series!! I loved it and cried through it!!
Another moving story in the Baxter Family, I like how it was presented and layed out. Love Hope & Faith in the midst of heartache
Love and have read all her series. Waiting for her newest.
