A really good book.. there are a lot of weird and funny confessions, but there are also others that are heartbreaking and others that are plain mean. it made me realize that other people in this world experience a lot more than what i experience in my life..
A good book for those of us that like Post Secret. This is along the same lines, minus the postcards/images and they go into a bit more detail, and you get to read the original responder's posts. I was a bit disappointed with some of the responses, so I only read responses for confessions that intrigued me, otherwise I didn't read them. A very interesting book though and I wish it did have some pictures as some of the posts apparently had pictures linked to them.
I confess that I was such a fan of this site a few years ago that I bought the T-shirt. I wore that shirt all the time and got so many comments on it! At one point in time, I even received an e-mail from the webmaster that I've saved. Fun stuff. Now, onto the book. I really enjoyed it. There was part of me that felt I had to read it just to make sure one of my confessions wasn't in there. :) Was one of the confessions mine? Wouldn't you like to know! There was a great variety of confessions included and lots of the talk backs. Sometimes I was annoyed by the talk backs, but that's because they left any spelling and grammar errors in. I enjoyed that for the authenticity factor, but it was also a bit annoying to see errors like that in a book. Overall, an interesting collection of confessions from an intriguing website. Recommended for anyone that's spent hours reading through confessions on the site or those that are just curious about the things people can tell strangers that they wouldn't tell their closest friends or family. :)
I ordered this on a whim after seeing it on-line. I've (still) never been to the website the book is taken from and I enjoyed it very much. It's very fast and broken down into catergories which makes it a lot easier to lay down and go back to later without "missing anything".
My favorite part by far was the posters responses. It never fails to shock me how utterly perfect people become when they find someone else doing something wrong.
A quote I love:
"The righteousness of the flawed is frightening." Kate Holden
HOW VERY TRUE IS THAT QUOTE?
Was hoping for more dirt (aren't we all?). Book was actually pretty good, I did expect more 'unprintable stuff' but it just wasn't in there - even though they could have printed the unprintable stuff, they just didn't...
...however - what they did print was an eye opener into what America at large does (or at least wants to do), and how we all still feel guilty when we do what we just know that we aren't supposed to do.
...along with each 'confession' are the 2-cents put in by the on-line readers of these confessions. Some of them are more like sub-confessions in their on right and are very funny (usually)...
...all in all I enjoyed the book and recommend it to everyone - it's a quick read...
