This book is from the beginning of John Saul's illustrious career, and it is very good. It's scary and really draws you in. I found myself really caring about the characters and wanting to yell "No, don't do that!" This is really a classic horror novel by a great writer.

Some elements in the book? A house haunted by a murder. A vengeful ghost. A deceitful doctor, and a family descending into madness. All combine to create a great story!

2nd book by John Saul for me and he takes a strange delight in making his childred characters evil. Just a different take for me.

Although this book was creepy and spooky, I was captivated from chapter one. The suspense and excitement keeps building preventing me from putting this book down.

With this one being one of Saul's first 5 books, and probably in my top 3 by him, this is just an incredibly creepy and scary story of a girl and a ghost. Check out my video book review from my YouTube Channel; AreYouIntoHorror here:

I usually like books that are open ended and I definetly don't always have to have a happy ending so maybe I just picked the wrong season (Xmas) to read this one, but it wasn't one of my favorites. Good characters I liked and nothing but bad things happening to them. Not very rewarding for me.
